The ADKC is one of Ontario’s oldest purebred dog show clubs, reinstating itself in 2017 with a group of dedicated dog show contributors. A committee built with owner-handlers, judges, breeders, pioneers of the sport and dog fanciers promoting the class of the dog show sport at the CPE Classic. Together with the CKC and CPE, the ADKC see this as an ideal venue to offer a great event that will promote dog shows and responsible purebred dog breeders while offering many educational opportunities for breeders, exhibitors with animal lovers alike.

The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) is the primary registry body for purebred dogs in Canada and currently recognizes over 175 breeds. As a non-profit organization, the CKC is dedicated to encouraging, guiding, and advancing the interests of purebred dogs and their responsible owners and breeders in Canada and promoting the knowledge and understanding of the benefits which dogs can bring to Canadian society.

The CKC is incorporated under Animal Pedigree Act, a federal statute under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture. The organization includes approximately 20,000 individual members and over 700 breed clubs across Canada. The Club registers purebred dogs, regulates dog shows and performance events, and speaks out on major issues concerning dog ownership and the health & welfare of dogs across Canada.

The Aurora Distric Kennel Club appreciate the initiative as a club in sharing the efforts of promoting purebred dogs to not only CKC dog fanicers but the world of family pets.

The Canadian Pet Expo is Canada’s largest pet event that incorporates the excitement mixed with participation of both families and their pets promoting responsible pet ownership. All of the CPE events encapsulate all pets to show the diversity of companionship that pets provide daily to many families.
